The case of food sellers

Based on qualitative surveys in the Rhône-Alpes area in France, this article focuses on a little-known occupational group: the food market sellers who move daily to cities to attend weekly markets. By studying the social and geographic mobilities of these sellers, as well as the criteria for choosing the places they work in, the paper presents the various dynamics of the making the city.
