Before discovering the second volume of "Faire Varia", Ethnologie Française invites you, in its final volume of 2023, to explore aesthetic practices at the individual and collective levels, with a particular focus on the various forms of sociality produced and reinforced through work on and of appearance. Beyond the public presentation of the self and its performative character, the contributions collected in this issue of Pratiques esthétiques explore and analyze the interactions that take place in the spaces of aesthetic training and practice. They show how these privileged spaces enable the transmission of skills and savoir-être, and promote new forms of complicity and intimacy outside the everyday constraints of professional and domestic life.
