This paper investigates the social relations of teenagers of a secondary school in France, particularly “dangerous” and “violent” bodily practices. Although the playground is a cooperative and creative space for school friends, we do observe radical behaviors. Recess time is increasingly controlled by supervisors, who multiply rules against physical play. Questioning the novelty of these games, as well as their connection with other bodily practices, this study examines the relationship between contemporary adolescent lifestyle within the school at the crossroads of the youthful culture of school and media debates on risk-taking by teenagers.
