Drawing on two unique safeguarding initiatives undertaken by poets and in partnership with public institutions, the text examines the memorial, social and political issues surrounding the possession and transmission of know-how in West Sahara (Mauritania and Western Sahara). It does so in a context of strong regional competition between nation-states and rapid evolution in lifestyles.
