The war in Ukraine as an event reconfiguring Belarusian diasporic organizations

On the eve of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the Belarusian diaspora had relatively efficient organization structures and the experience necessary to receive and assist displaced persons. But a necessary condition for the Belarusians to join the effort to help Ukraine was to overcome the reluctance of Ukrainian activists, who identified them with the Lukashenko regime, which was involved in the war. Interviews with representatives of migrant organizations in France and Poland trace the reactions of Belarusian activists to the war, their relationships with Ukrainian activists and their overwhelming mobilization.
